Casting Call for The Magical Land of Oz!

Click your heels together three times, follow the yellow brick road and sign up to participate in the Open Air Summer Family Concert Series' production of "The Magical Land of Oz". This fun, musical adaptation of the children's classic is full of songs, humor and magic. Whether you love performing or you've never been in a play before, people of all ages and levels of experience are welcome!

The Magical Land of Oz will be performed for the public (free admission) on August 4th as part of the Open Air Summr Family Concert Series under the big tent at the Upper Valley Events Center. Rehersals will be from 5 to 7 PM on July 25th-29th and August 1-3. We will work around your schedule and no one will be asked to be at every rehearsal. Rehersals are scheduled for after work hours and families are encouraged to participate! Directed by Sarah Laeuchli (recent Dartmouth Theater Deptartment graduate) and assisted by _______, the show will be about participation and fun for cast and audience alike. Sarah says, “The audience knows the story and will love to see the characters. I welcome all abilities and ages to join in the fun.”

Practices will be at the Upper Valley Events Center from 5 to 7 PM each Monday-Thursday, July 25-29 and Monday, Tues, Wed August 1 – 3. Dress rehearsal and performance on Thursday, August 4^th 4 to 8 PM. Not all practices need to be attended. The directors will work with your schedule. Families are encouraged to participate (note the after-work hours for practices). Roles include: Dorothy, Toto, Tin Man, Lion, Cowardly Lion, Scarecrow, OZ, Witches & others. Stage management, set, costume and other non-acting roles are available as well.

Last year’s performance of Cinderella was attended by hundreds and inspired many. Two years ago a performance of Alice in Wonderland was staged - what fun it was for cast, crew and audience.
